A Very Happy New Year to all our families and friends. It’s lovely to see the children back in school. Let’s hope that the extreme weather which closed our school is over!
Thank you for your patience and understanding over the school closures… we did our very best. Please see attached School Closure Guidelines. If you have any comments or suggestions to make they will be gratefully received.

Keeping fit, healthy and sporty
Attached to the newsletter are two invitations for Yrs.2,3,4,5,6 to get involved in some fantastic sports programmes. Please don’t miss these great opportunities.
Possible help required:- are there any parents who would be willing to help run a football or netball club in school? – please contact Mrs. Prior.

BUILDING WORKS
The building of the new After School Care block has now begun. It is estimated to last the Spring term, and hopefully we are looking forward to providing after school and holiday care for the Summer term. The works taking place are fully risk assessed which are reviewed on an ongoing basis. The children will not be coming into any contact with either the work or the contractors.
Please help in supervising the children whilst on the school grounds before and after school. Please ensure that the children do not go anywhere near the fenced off area. Many thanks.
The building plans are on view in the school entrance.
*Please do not hesitate to contact the Headteacher or office if you see anything that concerns you.

During the works, the small infant playground will be out of use, and the hall space will be slightly reduced. This will have an impact upon some aspects of school organisation.
1. As the small infant playground is now out of use, we have no gathering space for the children who arrive at school in the morning before 8.50a.m.
*It would be very helpful if parents could drop children off at school no earlier than 8.50a.m.(other than breakfast club children)–then the children can go straight to class.
2. All the children will have to share the large upper playground – therefore we will rota its use. – infant morning play -10.20-10.40a.m
- junior morning play –10.40-11.00a.m.
Lunchtime play and dining will be organised in three stages.
1. 12.00-12.20
2. 12.20-12.40
3. 12.40-1pm.
All children will still have 1 hour lunch break but the timing of dining and playground will be on a rota to ensure safety in numbers and supervision.

HOME/SCHOOL AGREEMENT: - PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD’S BOOK BAG FOR THIS.
If your child is in Reception, Yr 1 and Yr. 2 please find the Home/School Agreement in your child’s book bag. It is a three way contract which we hope you will read, sign and return to school. Our records show that there are also other junior children who did not return the signed agreement, therefore we have sent out extra to give you another opportunity to sign. Please check your child’s book bag.
